A little bit of history

Olgiata is a residential area like no other in Italy. It measures 600 hectares and gets its name from the Olgiati family, who owned the estate in the 16th century. In 1744, the property was bought by the Chigi family, who owned it until 1930, when they sold it to the Marquises Incisa della Rocchetta.

The Marquis was a keen Sassicaia winemaker with a passion for breeding Dormello Olgiata thoroughbreds, thereby linking his name to the history of this area. Ribot was the most famous horse from that studfarm. He won the Arc de Triomphe in 1955 and the Queen Elizabeth Stakes the following year.

Ribot’s old stable has been converted into a beautiful villa with a garden and a swimming pool. In the 1950s, the estate was sold and divided into plots, creating hundreds of beautiful villas with gardens.

Today, choosing to live in the Olgiata area means ensuring every amenity, lots of green spaces, and any type of leisure and entertainment for the whole family. The area is known for its riding school, residents’ club, and 27-hole golf course, which was even put forward as an Olympic golf course.

Privacy, comfort, and security for your family

Olgiata villas are like little islands in a sea of green. The streets here are identified by a letter of the alphabet and the villas by a number, thereby ensuring the residents’ privacy. The area will remain gated and private until 2050, as confirmed by the agreement with the City of Rome integrated into the articles of association of the Olgiata Consortium.

However, this date has been postponed to 2100. The Olgiata Consortium ensures continuous maintenance and street control and an efficient 24/7 security service provided by over 30 officers. The area has only two entries and is surrounded by a wooded area. Moreover, it takes only half an hour to get to the city centre.

Recent projects include the creation of direct access to the Olgiata metro station.
